bird strike

I have always wondered if there is ever a need for those life vests and rafts on planes. Looks like my question has been answered. A plane did a crash landing into the Hudson because each engine may have been put out by a bird. That shit is insane--who knew little birds could take down huge airplanes?

EDIT: I recognize that this is soulless, but I cannot stop cracking up about the birds possibly being Canada geese. This is probably the closest thing we'll ever see to a Canadian terrorist attack.
