The thing that sucks about finding a bug in the house when you live alone is not the fact that it's scarier when you are by yourself but that no one is around to witness, commiserate with, and reaffirm your disgust and terror. So when you are finally done shrieking, you always feel a little ridiculous. Maybe it just makes you realize that you are terrified by a tiny, ugly creature that is a trillion times smaller than you.
